SUMMARY:IHSI Lecture Series - Maria Montessori: Life as an Italian Woman
DESCRIPTION:IHSI Lecture Series – Maria Montessori: Life as an Italian Woman\nPlease join us to celebrate Maria Montessori— the woman on the lire\, the doctor from Italy\, the world traveler\, the scientist\, the educator\, and the visionary who taught us that education can be an act of beauty\, peace\, and love. \nMaria Montessori: Life as an Italian WomanWith Association Montessori Internationale(AMI) instructor Suzette Vetrini \nAugust 30\, 2026; 2pmCarmel Clay Public Library425 E Main St.Carmel\, IN 46032 \nMaria Montessori was born in Chiaravalle\, Italy and became one of the first women physicians in Italy. She then went on to change the way the world sees children. Her work began in Rome\, but her vision traveled everywhere\, including Europe\, Asia\, the Americas\, Australia\, New Zealand\, and beyond. Montessori became one of Italy’s great gifts to the world. \nFrom Vetrini: “Montessori once wrote that “beauty in the school invites activity and work\,” and that sentence has always stayed with me. It feels so deeply Italian: beauty is not extra\, beauty is part of life. A table set with care\, a flower in a vase\, a child pouring water with concentration\, a room prepared with love — these are not small things. They are culture. They are dignified. They are Montessori.” \nDuring this presentation\, Vetrini will share Maria Montessori’s life\, her Italian roots\, her courage\, her scientific mind\, and the reason her method still feels so alive today. Discussion will include Montessori education not as a trend\, but as a universal way of understanding human potential — from children to adults\, from schools to families\, from leadership to community life. When practiced with depth and respect\, Montessori works because it honors something simple and powerful: every human being wants to grow. \nThis presentation is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. \n August 30\n @\n2:00 pm\n\n	\n	Add to calendar	\n \n	\n \n\n\n	Google Calendar\n\n\n	iCalendar\n\n\n	Outlook 365\n\n\n	Outlook Live\n\n\n\n	Carmel Clay Public Library\n\n55 4th Avenue SE\n \n Carmel\,\n	IN\n	46032\n	United States\n\n\n	+ Google Map \n\n \n \n \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n IHSI Book Club – August 2026	\n\n\n	\n IHSI Book Club – September 2026
